Happy Birthday Brandon!

So last week was a very busy birthday week in my family. Kim's birthday was the 15th, Angie's the 18th, Brandon's the 20th, Grandma Barnes' the 21st, and also Father's Day!! It was a lot of fun. Unfornutely for Brandon, he had to work on his birthday and Father's day. But we still celebrated. His mom took us to Olive Garden for dinner on Friday night along with Brandon's sister, Brittany, and her husband John. It's always fun to get together with the fam. When Brandon got home from work on Saturday (his B-day) we ate out a Guadalajara Grill. Brandon told me not to buy him anything cuz he wants to pick out stereo equipment for his car. What he truly wanted though was a motorcycle. He's been wanting one so bad for the past couple of months. But he decided against it because we have a baby on the way. I just have to say how much I love him. He always treats me so well. He is a loving husband and very supportive of the things I do. He's a very hard worker! He works 7 days on (12 hr. shifts) & 7 days off, and on his weeks off he is always working to get something done. Whether it's mowing the yard, working on the shed..he always has a project he wants to get done. He's also a perfectionist. He's very thorough in just about anything he does. Some people may not know, but he is a great artist. His specialty is drawing cars, and he is amazing at it! I could go on & on about the wonderful person he is. He is everything to me & I feel so lucky to have him as my husband and future father of our kids.

Happy Birthday babe! I promise we'll get you that motorcyle. ;)

Dr. Appointment

I had my second Dr.'s appointment on Monday. I am seeing Dr. Naisbitt at the Circle of Life Women's Center. Brandon and I both really liked him. He is really personable and definitely knows his stuff. We had our first ultrasound and got to hear the baby's heartbeat! It was awesome to see that there is actually a being growing inside of me...so weird! At the Circle of Life they give you a dvd and record the ultrasounds at every appointment, which is one of the reasons I switched to this facility. It was a really cool experience and I look forward to many more (where you can actually see that it's a real baby). Dr. Naisbitt said that I should be able to find out what I'm having at my next appointment, July 8th!! Woot woot.

The little jelly bean. :)

Kim & Josh's Fairytale Wedding

So yesterday was the big day. Josh & Kim finally got married. It was one of the most beautiful weddings I have been to. Everything went very smoothly. There were thunderstorms during the reception, but at least we were covered so it didn't matter. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple and the ceremony was great. I was a bawl baby during it (I blame it on being pregnant ha).

The luncheon was held at the Old Meeting House in Holladay. It used to be a church that has been remodeled and is now used for weddings. The food was great! Chicken cordon bleu, rice, carrots, salad, rolls, and cheesecake...mmmm.

The best part of the luncheon was when Josh got up and sang to Kim "I'm the Luckiest" by Ben Folds. We were all crying. It was just so cute and sweet.

The reception was held at Le Jardin in Sandy which is a really pretty greenhouse decked out in plants and flowers. It was beautiful. And they did the best dessert ever...an ice cream bar. You got to pick your ice cream flavors and toppings. It was so yummy.

After the bouquet and garder toss, we all went outside where their photographer had a cute little bike set up that said Just Married on the back. She had Josh ride it around a few times with Kim chasing him...so funny. :P

A few cousins got together and decked out their car. The pic is kind of dark.

It was a really fun day and I wish Kim and Josh the best! They are one very happy couple!

Gracie is here!!

For those of you who don't know, my best friend Amanda and her hubby Blake have been going through the adoption process for a year now. They were lucky to meet Jenna who was thinking of giving up her baby once it was born. Jenna picked them to be the adoptive parents. So we have all waited the last few weeks for the baby to arrive. She finally got here yesterday at 4:43 pm and weighed in at 7 lbs, 6 oz and 19 in. long. They will get to bring her home later this evening. She is so beautiful and is just an amazing blessing.

This pic was taken by Blake at the hospital yesterday.

This was me holding her at the hospital today. She is so cute! She kept making all these funny faces he he.

Memorial Weekend

I haven't put up a post in a while so I figured I'd tell you about our weekend. Brandon worked most of the weekend (7am - 7pm every day), so it was a pretty laid back. I spent Saturday preparing my sharing time for Sunday, which didn't go very well. I talked about the Holy Ghost and I just don't know if the kids got into it. Most of the time they just stared at me with blank looks on their faces. But then again, it is Jr. primary hehe. I went to a movie and lunch with my parents yesterday afternoon. And later last night we went & got ice cream and saw Terminator with Blake & Amanda. I'm sad that the weekend is over already. I could use a vacation!

Tomorrow I will be 9 weeks along!! My next doctors appointment is scheduled for June 8th at the Circle of Life Women's Center. Thanks for all of your doctor recommendations!

After 6 months of trying I'm happy to announce that I'm pregnant!! I am about 7 weeks and our due date is December 30th. I guess we just like to plan things around the same time of year 'cause our anniversary is Dec. 15th and my birthday is in January lol. But we are just so excited!!!!!

Here we come World

We are now the proud owners of a timeshare. Brandon signed us up for one of those time share presentations, and we only intended to go to get the free stuff. We've been to these before and always said no, but last night I couldn't refuse. I say I because Brandon was very hesitant about the whole idea. We bought into one of their cheapest plans, and if we save up our bonus points we can go somewhere really nice in a couple years. I would like to go to Hawaii, or Mexico, and our dream vacation is to go to Australia or New Zealand someday. This will hopefully be possible now. We hope to be able to invite family and friends with us on future trips, and the nice thing is we have it for life and can pass it on to our kids. So that's our latest investment...kinda crazy and spur of the moment, but I'm just excited to start seeing new places we've never been to before. You only live once!
